Therap partnered with Vorro to facilitate the acquisition, transformation, and delivery of patient and patient care data across Therap’s client base.

Waterbury, CT / Jacksonville, FL – May 13, 2016 – Therap Services, the industry leader in providing electronic records and documentation in long-term care services for people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, has partnered with Vorro to facilitate the acquisition, transformation, and delivery of patient care data across Therap’s client base.

Vorro will implement a clinical exchange platform – BridgeGate Health™ – to allow for the transformation and exchange of clinical data from Therap to Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) throughout the country to facilitate optimized coordinated care.

Therap’s initial connections will include:

  • Kansas Health Information Network (KHIN) with more than 1,200 participating hospitals, clinics & other health care related facilities.
  • HealtheLink, the Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) for the eight counties of Western New York, a part of the Statewide Health Information Network of New York (SHIN-NY).

The partnership with Vorro will allow Therap to share valuable patient information with other providers within the continuum of care. “These silos of data,” said Justin Brockie, COO of Therap Services, “can impede care and we believe the best way to serve our customers is to provide them with solutions that will improve the care of the people they support.”

Health Information Exchanges are actively looking for ways to connect with disability providers. The barriers to connecting and getting this data include cost, lack of technology and privacy laws. Therap is working with more than 2000 providers nationally and hopes to eliminate these barriers by working with partners like Vorro and providing access to important health and related data.

Scott Sirdevan, Vorro’s CTO & Co-Founder, says, “We are excited to be partnering with Therap Services as we see great benefits in integrating developmental disability data into the care continuum, and we look forward to bringing other innovative solutions to the market with them to improve patient care.”
